Familia / Igniter is the first collaboration single from Dougy (Bordeaux, France) together with dutch producer Dub Disciple (Nijmegen, The Netherlands) and is the very first release on Boomshakalak Records.
The single was a hands on collaboration between the French reggae singer / songwriter and Dutch producer Dub Disciple and Dutch label boss Jimmy Spliff Fiyah of Boomshakalak Records.
The concept and recording was done during 2021 and features a hint of ‘west coast g-funk’ in a unique reggae dub digital production. The 7” delivers 2 powerful songs in a unique style. Dougy’s puts on the flow and the vocals to hold high a message of Unity and togetherness.
The work of Dub Disciple has made the beat well loud and heavy.

Familia :
This song is all about Family, it says, if you stay righteous in your way of living and thinking, nothing can harm you.
It is also a song encouraging people to join the family and live together side by side. These values were very similar and shared by Boomshakalak, Dub Disciple and Dougy.
The release comes with a music video with the artist and all the Boomshakalak crew gathered for this one, made by visual artist Jeroen Bevers. He filmed the making of the street art that is used for the artwork. The street art is done by Naamlooozz & R.W. Visser can can be visited in Nijmegen, the locate code is provided on the sleeve.
Igniter :
This song is a party song, to get everyone involved, let go everything and give 100% on the dance floor. It is also preaching Dougy’s dedication to the live performing.
He says that he can ignite the fire on the dance floor, pushing it with some fast style flows.
